Into the Wilderness

The softwood’s sweet scent was a very kind greeting
In a quickly darkening land.
The sun sets quietly behind the horizon
Venus comes out to play.
The trees grow larger as I venture in
The sky turns darker still.
The wind starts to blow and the trees dance with it
The air grows pleasantly cool.
The water flows freely through the brooks and streams
Quenching the thirst of the stones.
And as the sky turns black and the stars come out to play
I finally feel at home.
