Sadness at Sea

The crashing waves became a dull moan
The rest of the world is far.
A thousand miles this ship’s been blown
Leaving a wake like scar.
The bearded man on the deck of the ship
A soul alone in the void
He’s out there alone, because his mind did slip
His mind totally destroyed.
A drop of sea water from an impressive wave
A drop lands on his beard
It’s the final reminder that the sea is his grave
It seems just a little bit weird.
He need not appear anymore to be brave
Now he’s adrift in the sea.
His heart no longer keeps him as a slave
His mind has set him free
The ship sails off bound for the west
Towards the setting sun.
And as another wave shows its impressive crest
He knew his life was done.
Into the sun sailed the ship called Dismay
The man wanted to cry.
It was the end of his personal fray
He knew he would soon die.
