The Arrival of Spring
April 02, 2024 07:06:24 ADT
On a gray day a light snow falls
Among the weak beams of sunlight.
I keep some warmth within these walls
The flakes outside are quite a blight.
The humming heater keeps me warm
Among winter’s cold icy grip
Snowflakes on the ground clump and form
A sheet of ice where one could slip.
Winter loosens his grip and sighs
The beams of sunlight grow stronger.
With the final flake, winter dies
And with spring the days grow longer.
